It's More Than a Job, It's a Calling!Position: Logistics TechnicianLocation: Good Samaritan hospital; Downers Grove, IL.Per-Diem/PRN-Registry - scheduled to work as needed, to help fill in for departmental gaps and needs; 2nd and 3rd shifts 3PM-11PM & 11PM-7AMMajor Responsibilities:

  • 2-Bin Inventory Management
    • Be responsible to maintain all assigned 2-Bin inventory locations, ensuring that the inventory is placed in the appropriate bin, the room is organized and orderly, the 2-Bin standard has been adhered to and not disrupted in any manner, stock is not placed in bins incorrectly, bins have not been removed from the room and that debris is not on the floor or under the inventory racks.
    • Be responsible to pick and pull all regularly scheduled inventory to replenish all assigned inventory locations at 100% accuracy.
    • Deliver all 2-Bin replenishment orders to the appropriate 2-bin inventory location.
    • Restock all 2-Bins with items picked and restock in appropriate bin and perform an inventory cycle count in bin to insure inventory accuracy.
    • Check for expired product and replace with appropriate product and adjust the inventory count by performing an inventory cycle count.
    • Perform a supplement restock when requested or when requested.
    • Pick up all empty bins and any product returns from the assigned inventory locations. Return all such product to the General Stores and stage the product in the return location with appropriate paper work and signature ready for credit.
    • Be responsible to perform a monthly 2-Bin inventory of designated locations, or as assigned.
    • Be responsible to understand and use DemandTrack on a regular basis for assessing and tracking all inventory velocity and usage, making PAR adjustment recommendations to the Supply Chain leader.
    • Receiving and Delivery Chain of Custody Automation
      • Be responsible for using the automation for all General Stores cycle counts scheduled by the Supply Chain Leader.
      • Be responsible for using the receiving and distribution chain of custody automation provided by your supervisor for the purpose of documenting the chain of custody of all incoming shipments and all outgoing General Stores issues to the point-of-care locations. Be responsible for utilizing the automation at all times in accordance with the process provided by the Supply Chain Leader or designated authority.
      • Be responsible for using the automation to pick, issue, deliver, credit and administer all General Stores product, including, as assigned, all crash carts, inventory carts and other inventory locations / applications as applicable.
      • General Stores Maintenance and Inventory Management
        • Be responsible for properly gathering and removing all product delivery skids and debris within the General Stores environment.
        • Be responsible for rotating all inventory in assigned areas of the General Stores, ensuring a first expired, first out (FEFO) inventory management approach. Diligently register any expired product detected in accordance with the Non-Compliant Policy.
        • Be responsible for assigned inventory locations, including inventory management and associated inventory valuation levels for the overall General Stores, as well as assigned inventory locations, cycle count and associated error rate, days on hand inventory levels, and potential overstock and obsolete inventory levels. Be responsible for knowing the total inventory valuation and associated days-on-hand level for the overall General Stores inventory and for the inventory in your assigned area of responsibility. Be responsible for seeking any clarity or further understanding directly from the Supply Chain Leader in the event inventory valuation information is not known or understood.
        • Be responsible for maintaining a superior level of housekeeping in all areas of the General Stores, taking personal responsibility to pick-up all debris, cardboard, plastic, paper off the General Stores floor, including underneath equipment and racks. Be responsible for immediately breaking down any cardboard or other dunnage associated with incoming inventory and properly and completely disposing. Be responsible for identifying and disposing of any item residing within the General Stores that does not reside in an assigned location or serve a defined purpose, ensuring to seek the approval of the Supply Chain Leader, or their designee, prior to enacting on any such disposal. Be responsible for maintaining a superior level of cleanliness in all personal or group work spaces, including any associate break or eating areas, including all equipment, tables, kitchen or food preparation related equipment. Be responsible for maintain a clean and spotless appearance on all walls, windows, cabinets, surfaces, building columns, work counters or equipment.
        • Perform regular cycle counts, as determined by the Supply Chain Leader, or their designee, for all assigned inventory areas within the General Stores. Be responsible for maintaining a cycle count error rate of five percent (5%) or less. Be responsible for evaluating and understanding the root cause analysis for any errors and implementing the necessary process-specific corrective action.
        • Be responsible to carry any pager/portable telephone assigned to provide expeditious response to customer requests. Be responsible for any such piece of equipment in protecting from loss or damage.
        • Be responsible to maintain a trend chart of the total inventory valuation for your assigned inventory location within General Stores on a monthly basis. Maintain the trend chart on the General Stores Quality Board, identifying your trend chart with your name and inventory location. Be responsible for continuous improvement over time and making inventory reductions to the Supply Chain Director or their designee at a level that at a minimum is the same or greater as the overall inventory reduction target assigned to the Supply Chain Leader.
        • Receiving
          • Be responsible to perform receiving functions for all incoming orders, whether bulk or logical unit of measure related.
          • Review all incoming orders for accuracy and correlation to appropriate PO and ship-to location.
          • Identify incoming quality issues and errors. Interface with all applicable customer service representatives associated with the third-part shipping entities.
          • Perform all receiving functions via the scanning technology and work standard provided.
          • Maintain a clean work environment on a daily basis, performing all housekeeping functions as needed or assigned, including the use of red tag and visual management tools to ensure that all tools, equipment and work space items are located in specified location at all times.
          • Deliver all inbound product received, including the analysis, problem solving and trouble-shooting for all incoming product that is not properly identified with the correct ship-to or requisitioning location.
          • Cleans and disinfect patient care equipment according to Infection Control policies.
          • Perform all other duties related.
          • Distribution
            • Be responsible for inventory management and an accurate pick process for all requisitioned inventory items. Maintain, on average, no more than five (5) days on hand for any inventory SKU, unless otherwise approved or directed by the Supply Chain Leader.
            • Pick, as required, and deliver all requisitioned orders or other product to the requester. Utilize bar code scanning technology, as provided, to capture electronic signatures and order delivery / receipt confirmation record.
            • Coordinate reviewing and obtaining all non-compliant product placed into any green bin within any assigned inventory location at a frequency assigned, or no less that once a week of a frequency is not assigned, transporting all such inventory back to General Stores. Enter all such product obtained from the green bins into the standardized on-line database in a timely manner.
            • Be responsible for returning all General Stores equipment used for Distribution to General Stores when such use is complete.
            • Coordinate product returns from assigned requisitioning locations back to the General Stores.
            • Picking
              • Be responsible for picking a minimum of 100 lines per hour, achieving this benchmark within a period of time determined to be acceptable by the Supply Chain Leader, but at no time picking less than 60 lines per hour. NOTE: The lines per hour pick time is intended to be fully inclusive of all the complete replenishment to the respective point-of-use location, thereby taking into account pick time, travel time to the department, and replenishment time. Pick all orders requested by unit department by time basis unless directed by lead in shift.
              • Be responsible at all times for the accuracy of your respective inventory picks. Be responsible for the cycle count error generated within your inventory area of responsibility within the General Stores or, if different, the inventory locations you are assigned to pick product. Develop a corrective action plan to mitigate the cycle count errors generated from your respective area of inventory responsibility. Chart a trend chart of the cycle count error rate, by quarter, for your respective inventory location. Maintain the trend chart on the General Stores Quality Board, identifying your trend chart with your name and inventory location. Be responsible for continuous improvement over time.
              • Be responsible for the inventory pick associated with all 2-Bin inventory locations assigned, complete with returning the empty bins to the General Stores so as to follow the defined pick / replenishment process.
              • Be responsible to use the designated picking automation and associated process to perform all inventory picking / replenishment process. Tag all product with the appropriate and designated stickers.
              • Be responsible to release all picked orders using Lawson WH32.2 and sign paper work.
              • Be responsible to utilize and follow the process and procedures with the assigned velocity picking format to ensure proper utilization of inventory product to facilitate Items requiring re-order.
              • Non-Conforming Policy and Procedure Management
                • Be responsible for analyzing the non-conforming product incident rate by SKU for any assigned inventory location. Be responsible for making process improvement recommendations to the Supply Chain Director or their designee in regard to actions to mitigate the recurrence of non-conforming supplies.
                • Be responsible to maintain the non-conforming green bins, placards and laminated job aids in all inventory locations, as assigned.
                • Be responsible for rotating all stock located in the respective inventory location bins or kardex, ensuring a first expired, first out (FEFO) approach. Remove any non-conforming product and transport to General Stores as specified under the Non-Conforming Policy.
                • Be responsible pick-up all non-conforming product from the green bins on a frequency no less than weekly. Transport all non-conforming product to General Stores and enter all items into the appropriate cells in the non-conforming product log located at: http://demandtrack.advocatehealth.com/supply_incident_report/
                • Be responsible for communicating non-conforming clinical supply trend and analytical information to the appropriate clinical leadership responsible for the areas for which your assigned inventory location(s) reside.Education/Experience Required:
                  • High School diploma or GED
                  • 12 months experience; stocking experience and/or receiving experience preferred.
                  • Experience with mainframe or PC computer systemsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
                    • Good communication & customer relation skills. Good organization and math skills. Must be computer literate. Must function as a "team" member. Ability to prioritize work flow. Ability to adapt to change quickly Ability to demonstrate critical thinkingPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:
                      • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available.
