The Job at a Glance The Indirect Loan Funder is responsible for assisting underwriting personnel with quality assurance such as verification of income and document compliance for loans obtained through auto dealerships. This individual will be an internal and external champion for the credit union's Indirect Lending department's sales and service culture. A Typical Day Process indirect loan applications within designated goal time following CU1's lending criteria, policies and procedures. Accurately calculate dealer reserve payments and initiate ACH payments to dealerships upon loan funding. Verify accuracy of application information, including but not limited to income, employment, and residence. Maintain strong knowledge of all lending policies, procedures, products, and applicable regulations to support compliance and quality control objectives. Protect the Credit Union by monitoring applications for red flags and potential fraud, escalating applications when necessary. Communicate funding delays to dealership representatives with accuracy and efficiency and projects as a Subject Matter Expert. Act as liaison between Indirect Lending Department and dealership representatives as well as internal members, including branch staff and other department staff. Conduct oneself in a kind, courteous, and helpful manner to all members, both external and internal. Actively participate in training/education activities to maintain and enhance professional and technical skills, relative to industry standards and trends, which supports the professional development of lending personnel. Resolve member issues relating to loan processing. Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned. Reports regularly to the Indirect Lending Manager. Works regularly with lending personnel on an "as needed" basis. Has regular contact with vendors to maintain quality service to the members. What We Look For High school diploma required. Must be a self-starter, researching information where needed. Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail. Good organizational and time management skills Requires professional appearance and attitude. Must have the ability to adjust to changes in duties and methods.
