Job Description Job Description Summary: An industry leading manufacturer of heavy fabrications for the construction, agriculture, mining and rail industries is seeking a full-time Production Planner to join our team. This dynamic position reports to the Planning Department Manager and is located at our Harvey, IL facility. Responsibilities: • Interface between customer and manufacturing regarding specifications, drawings, QC requirements and delivery. • Lead pre-production meetings to ensure alignment of manufacturing processes and customer expectations. • Create parts and assemblies in MRP from customer drawings ensuring correct routing of materials through various manufacturing processes. • Generate, update and distribute manufacturing orders. • Evaluate forecasts and develop production schedules balancing customer demand with economic order quantities. • Perform 'make' vs. 'buy' decisions considering cost, lead-time & quality. • Participate in cross-functional production meetings to support manufacturing. • Function as an MRP system SME. Job Requirements: • Planning experience in a manufacturing environment • Ability to accurately interpret manufacturing drawings • Must be a highly motivated self-starter requiring minimal supervision • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Efficient time management skills and the ability to multitask effectively • High school diploma or equivalent required Company Description W3Global was established in 2006 in Fremont, CA with a vision: simplify the recruiting process and develop an industry-disrupting platform to connect candidates with clients.
