Transdev U.S. has an exciting opportunity for an accomplished HR leader to lead our business HR function as Vice President, Business Human Resources , reporting to the CHRO.

The Role: The Vice President, Human Resources will lead a team of five HR directors and, indirectly, eighty HR generalists/managers and directors in the business locations. Under the leadership of this role, the Business HR team provides business partner support to business leadership and employees, including organizational planning and design, performance management, workforce analysis, benefits, compensation planning, and employee relations. This position will closely collaborate with the Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Labor Relations, and Learning & Development "COE" leaders to ensure positive business results.

This position is based in our Corporate Officeheadquartered in theChicago area (Lombard, IL), and will require travel throughout the US based on business need (approx. 25%). Local candidates preferred; however, relocation will be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Key Impact:


  • Lead a high impact people strategy across the business, partnering with the executives and leadership team to define, develop and execute key strategic priorities that attract, develop and retain talent in the business
  • Serve as a trusted and respected business partner to all management and leadership of the organization. This foundation of trust and respect is critical to the VP of HR's ability to influence and optimize talent-related decision making and strategies
  • Advise business leaders and business HR directors on talent topics to achieve business objectives while also consulting on policy, culture, and legal issues impacting the business
  • Possess a keen understanding of the business strategy, market factors, and financial position to influence leadership on people strategies that add value, notable to the business's bottom line
  • Coach and develop HR Directors and their HR teams to shape short- and long-term people strategies that promote the highest level of employee engagement and organizational performance
  • Focus on hourly employee strategies, notably labor relations strategies and compensation programs to ensure programs remain competitive and the business' ability to attract top talent is sustained
  • Passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion and accountable to shape how programs and strategic initiatives will be successfully applied and advanced in the group
  • Be an open and accessible leader to the organization regularly engaging employees at all levels and further developing trust and communication
  • Investigate employee relations, ethics, or compliance issues, consulting with appropriate corporate support functions


    Qualifications

    Background/Requirements:


    • Transformational Leader: Transformational and change leader that has experience with change management principles, tools, and methodologies to drive lasting improvements in the organization
    • Strong business and financial acumen to understand, interpret and develop people actions to impact business and financial performance. Capable of adding value as an integral member of the Leadership team
    • Communication: Superior communication skills, with the ability to convey information to various levels of the organization from reports and presentations to senior management needed to make timely decisions, to shaping messages that inspire the workforce, to distilling complex facts into clear, concise, and actionable instructions where needed. Must be able to articulate a vision while being direct and transparent about challenges
    • Coach & Advocate: Ability to counsel and guide senior leaders on people and leadership topics, while being an advocate of employees from both an internal culture and external brand value proposition standpoint
    • People Leader: Ability to build teams, motivate them to accomplish goals, and lead through influence at all levels
    • HR Technical: Knowledge of global, federal, and local employment laws affecting employment, plus best practices in talent, leadership and learning management, and when to seek counsel from specialists
    • Data-driven: Leverage HR metrics and ability to draw insights to enable informed decision making
    • Energetic: Energizing and engaging style, with comfort to adjust plans and thrives by operating in a fast-paced dynamic environment
    • Bachelor's Degree required in Human Resources, business or other related field
    • Master's degree and HR certification desirable
    • 10 years of experience in Human Resources Management with evidence of career progression and managing teams
    • Labor Union experience in an hourly envirnment strongly preferred
    • 25% travel
