Purpose:The Technical Director (TD) will provide technical support
to municipal (water and wastewater) projects. The MTD assists
operations personnel with process troubleshooting, environmental
compliance, and, where applicable, training efforts, optimization
initiatives, and, as appropriate, business development activities
to obtain new contracts.Prefer location resides within the
designated Central South Region.Primary
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs technical reporting within the region, i.e., technical
reviews, audits, troubleshoot projects, works with non-compliance
issues.
- Extensive knowledge and use of the VNA Process Control
Management Plan program (PCMP) and Hach WIMS database.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with an understanding of
Knowledge of Facilities / Capital Equipment Management, Laboratory
QA/QC procedures, Safety, Environmental, and Process / Operations
Management.
- Is capable of utilizing/coordinating available resources in the
Technical & Performance group to solve operational problems as
needed
- Possess the ingenuity and initiative required to coordinate
problem resolution, resolve conflicting priorities, and meet
assignment deadlines within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects to an on-schedule
completion.
- Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in process modeling.
- Demonstrated effective communication, presentation, and
interpersonal skills in order to interface with and motivate all
levels of personnel.
- Demonstrated knowledge of water and wastewater regulations as
issued by the Federal and State regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete,
and easily understood written communications, instructional
presentations, and
reports.QualificationsEducation/Experience/Background:
- BS in Environmental Sciences or other related field preferred
but not required.
- 15+ years of progressive experience within operations and
maintenance or engineering industries.
- Highly desirable to have municipal water and wastewater
treatment experience with thorough knowledge of the methods,
techniques, principles, and practices of water and wastewater
treatment, water distribution, water reuse, and wastewater
collections.
- Highly desirable to have hands-on field experience with a wide
range of municipal treatment systems and processes focusing on
troubleshooting and optimization.
- Familiarity with maintenance, operation, regulatory reporting,
and cost estimating software.
- Knowledge of specific modeling - hydraulic and process modeling
programs is also desirable.
- Demonstrated commitment to compliance with applicable laws and
regulations, the Company's Code of Business Conduct, and other
Company policies and procedures.
- Should have at least 12-years of extensive operational and
maintenance knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting various
plants/processes ranging from 2-100 Million Gallons
treated/discharged per day.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

effective presentations to clients at all levels of staff and
management.
- Strong time and project management skills with demonstrated
ability to manage teams against ambitious deliverables and
timelines.
- Adept at developing project execution plans after a thorough
discussion with clients.
- Strong PC skills are essential. Must have proven proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suites and Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Self-motivated to high performance and ability to work
autonomously.
- Schedule: Regular Mon-FridayRequired
Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Valid Driver's license and safe driving record.
- Operator Certification or other equivalent confirmation of
specialty skills is highly desirable.
- Highest level of water and/or wastewater licenses from a state
agency. O&M background with the ability to Identify and
recommend technological, operational, or engineering changes to
improve system reliability, regulatory compliance, or reduction of
cost.Physical Requirements:
- Mobility and ability to travel 50 - 70% required.Additional
