Scope of Position:

The Director of Finance effectively manages the day to day operation of Hotel Accounting Department. Primary responsibilities include financial analysis and financial reporting. Works through own team and influences department managers to ensure appropriate control are in place to manager business risks. Assist the Executive Team during budget preparation, forecasting. Oversee audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation and cash control.

Job Responsibilities:

--- Supports the implementation of the property's annual business plan. Generates and reviews financial reports that are linked to the plan's financial goals.

--- Coordinate and review daily, monthly and annual financial statements for accuracy.

--- Supports the development of the annual operating budget for the property and provides analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost savings and productivity opportunities.

--- Shares forecast information with operations to enable team to react to changes in the business. Attends critique meetings to review information with management team. Provides forecast information to the General Manager in a timely manner.

--- Review and approve all ledger account reconciliations to include; bank statements, assets liabilities and credit cards. Monitor coding of cash receipts.

--- Maintains a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets improve operations and profitability and manage business risks.

--- Ensure compliance with standard and local operating procedures.

--- Advises the General Manager on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.

--- Review and approve tax returns to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

--- Oversees internal, external and regulatory audit processes and ensures compliance with Prism Standard Operating Procedures.

--- Leverages technology and effectively uses information systems and tolls to generate financial reports and provide managers with analytical support to drive decision making.

--- Oversees the acquisition and maintenance of property based systems.

--- Reconcile balance sheet and ensures account balances are supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOPs.

--- Ensures that the P&L is accurate (i.e., costs are properly matched to revenue, costs are recorded in the proper accounts) and statements are delivered to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.

--- Ensure federal and local tax rates are current and proper amounts are collected and/or accrued. Administers the payment of real estate/personal property taxes on time.

--- Ensure hotel permits, licenses and if applicable vendor contracts are current.

--- Review audit issues and makes corrections as necessary.

--- Assigns team members and other department managers clear accountability to accomplish goals.

--- Participates in colleagues' performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed.

--- Participates in colleagues' progressive discipline procedures. Ensures hotel policies are administered fairly and consistently. Disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to the Standard and Local Operating Procedures and supports the Colleagues Review Process.

Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Corporate Finance
