Overview:Transdev U.S. has an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Safety, Security & Risk Management leader to join us reporting to the CEO.

The Role: Safety is Transdev's core value and top operational priority and is supported as such by the CEO and the entire leadership team. Building on this value, the Chief Safety, Security & Risk Officer will create innovative, results-focused solutions in the areas of safety, security, environment, and risk, which will support Transdev's financial goals, its community impact, environmental impact, and the employee experience.

The CSSRO will work under the direction of the Transdev U.S. CEO and in coordination with the US Executive Leadership Team, and the Transdev Group (Global) Risk Officer, to develop an integrated approach to creating and sustaining a best in class safe and sustainable workplace.

This position is based at the HQ office in Lombard, IL (Chicago area) and will require travel throughout the US based on business need (approx. 50%). Some international travel may be required as well.

  • Plan, direct and implement the company's overall safety, security and risk management strategies, programs, and processes which lead to best in class workplace safety and risk mitigation.
  • Direct insurance programs including accident and work comp claims management, assessment of exposure for financial reserve setting, and management of relationships with third party service providers such as brokers, insurers and third-party administrators.
  • Introduce and implement best practices including the establishment and analysis of related KPIs.
  • Facilitate the identification and control of risks by developing formats for monitoring and reporting all risk including hazard, occupational safety, operational, and business risk.
  • Partner with management in the implementation of risk self-assessments and appropriate controls.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies and tools to assure safety information is conveyed to all employees through safety training, monthly communications and risk assessments/audits.
  • Manage effective interaction and compliance with governmental regulatory agencies.
    • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education & Experience:

      Seeking a candidate with a BA/BS degree (Masters preferred) and expertise gained through at least 10 years of directly related work experience, or an equivalent mixture of postsecondary education and relevant work experience.

      Knowledge and Skills:
      • Proven executive-level experience leading and executing effective strategies and programs around risk prevention/mitigation, risk/claims management, safety and security.
      • Ability to self-direct, innovate, and vision for a team, as well as the ability to understand complex matters and devise successful strategies and the skills necessary to readily resolve problems and issues.
      • Extensive experience in managing change, prioritizing, and managing multiple complex activities in a time-sensitive changing and fluid environment, and meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and quality.
      • Exceptional communication skills with excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, oral, written, and listening skills.
      • Ability to be an influencer to executive leadership peers, the CEO, and all Transdev colleagues to build on Safety as our primary cultural anchor at Transdev.
