The COO works closely with the CEO and the CFO as well as other executive management team members. As one of the most critical and essential positions within an organization, the COO must a skilled communicator, effective leader, with a drive for business, who can spur company growth, maintain key operational procedures, create new processes and ensure day to day operational excellence. This position will report directly to the CEO and possess excellent leadership skills, business acumen, financial acumen, ability to develop strategic plans and innovation for growth. Responsibilities Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures. Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth in collaboration with the CEO and Finance. Partnering with lead functional departments to establish policies that promote company culture and vision. People Management and Retention: Leads employee with an example; be a motivator for employees. Oversees the daily operations and drives maximum performance and dedicationby establishing, implementing, and administering operating policies consistent with the company's strategy and goals. Leads the organization in developing annual budgets that support the operating plan. Provides timely, thorough, and accurate financial and operating information to assist the CEO and the other organization's leadership team with decision making. Oversees Business Development on new business strategies including but not limited to negotiations of current client contract renewals and overall business process improvements Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and reports results to the CEO. In collaboration with the operations team, acts as a main client contact; has direct contact with key clients and partners and ensures that all customers are satisfied with organizational performance and service delivery. Develops future leadership of the company;coaches and mentors assigned staff; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports. Participates on expansions/divestures activities. Maintains confidentiality of all information. Other duties as directed. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field required. Master's in Business, Finance, or related field preferred. Experience required: Previous working experience as a Chief Operating Officer or relevant role for 5 years. Fifteen years or more of relevant operational experience and direct P&L responsibilities. Experience in a transportation or service industry. Skills and Knowledge Required: Working knowledge and application of data analysis and KPIs. In depth knowledge of different business functions. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Problem-solving mindset. Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
